FAQ

When is the election?
November 6.

Didn’t we have an election just 2 years ago? Why is this one important?
Yes. And that’s exactly why this one is so important. This year, we get to decide who controls Congress. If you care about the economy and taxes, education, immigration, and really everything else, you should vote. If you are unhappy about how things are right now, or how they could turn out, vote. Congress checks the President and can balance his powers (and, if necessary, impeach him).

I am in California. Does my vote really matter?
Yes! This year, especially, voting for members of Congress can really make a difference. And many of the most competitive races are in California.

Can anyone vote?
Yes, if you are a citizen of the United States, and 18 or older, you can vote. But you need to register first.

How can I register to vote?
Glad you asked. In California, you can register online until October 22. It’s easy. Go to this page.

How can I vote by mail?
Also a good question. In many states, you can vote early or vote by mail. Please see this page.

I can’t find my ballot. Can I get a new one?
Yes. In California, you can request a new ballot before October 30. In Orange County you can do so online. In San Diego county, call this number: (858) 565-5800.
